David T. Houston, Jr. is President of Colliers Houston & Co., which he joined in 1972 and which is part of Colliers International, headquartered in Boston. It is one of the largest real estate organizations in the world with offices throughout the Far East, Europe, and the United States. Mr. Houston served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Colliers USA. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College, holds an M.B.A. in finance and accounting from Columbia University, where he won several awards for academic excellence and was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma, served as a destroyer officer in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, was a member of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors of the National Association of Realtors and served as the National President of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors in 2004. He has served as a District Vice President, National Director, Member of the Executive Committee, President of the New Jersey Chapter, Chairman of the Society's Computer and Education Committees and chaired the Admissions Task Force. He has been a member of SIOR since 1976. He has also been a Trustee and President of the SIOR Educational Foundation and a Director of New Jersey's Association of Realtors.
He is a Fellow in the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, a member of the Counselors of Real Estate and has been a frequent speaker at national, regional, and local meetings. Among the national conventions he has spoken at include: SIOR, The Counselors of Real Estate, National Association of Office and Industrial Parks, regional meetings of the Appraisal Institute, BOMA and state conventions of Realtors of New Jersey, Delaware, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Ohio.
As a consultant and real estate broker, he has represented companies such as Johnson & Johnson, General Electric, Procter & Gamble, BD, the Port Authority, the NJEDA, Bristol Myers Squibb, Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, and many developers.
