Rick Lechtman serves as Managing Director of Ackman-Ziff, responsible for sourcing, underwriting, structuring and originating commercial real estate debt and equity since 2002. Through a joint-venture AZ-Garnet Loan Sale Advisors, he is responsible for originating and sourcing commercial real estate loan sale opportunities nationwide.

Prior to joining Ackman-Ziff, Rick spent a two-year stint at L. J. Melody & Company, a CB Richard Ellis Company, responsible for originating loans in their New Jersey office. Before that, Rick was a commercial real estate loan officer at JP Morgan and Nomura Securities, financing deals for Commercial Mortgage Backed Securitization and began his career as a residential mortgage broker with several top New York firms in the early 1990’s.

Mr. Lechtman holds a Bachelor of Arts-Political Economy degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. In 2001 he attended the New York University Real Estate Institute and received his Advanced Profession Certificate in Real Estate and has successfully completed many additional courses including Construction Lending, Income Capitalization and Commercial Real Estate Underwriting.

Rick is an active member in a number of organizations:

NYC Chapter of NAIOP - Commercial Real Estate Development Organization, President of Chapter 2008-Present

NJ Chapter of NAIOP - Commercial Real Estate Development Organization, Co-Chair Community Action Project

Industrial and Office Real Estate Broker Association of NY/NJ (IOREBA) and is on the Executive Committee

International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC)

Urban Land Institute (ULI)

Rick holds a New York State Real Estate Salespersons Licenses.

Rick has been published in the Urban Land Institute’s national periodical Multifamily Trends Jan/Feb 2008 edition titled “ Capital Markets Go Back to Basics.”

Mr. Lechtman is married with two children and resides in Short Hills, New Jersey.
