  EXPERT PRESENTS TOOLS FOR TURNING BLUNDERS INTO WONDERS AT IOREBA EVENT “Talk Your Way to Success” Program Offers Practical Persuasive Techniques
 
NEW YORK, N.Y., Feb. 5, 2009 – Laurie Puhn, the featured speaker at the “Talk Your Way to Success” program, which took place at the New York Athletic Club in Manhattan, discussed effective techniques professionals can use everyday to reduce conflict; increase client satisfaction; and enhance performance, productivity and profits. She posed the question, “Do you know that the comments you make to real estate clients, prospects and colleagues instantly persuade them to trust or mistrust you and cooperate or argue with you?”

Using the right words is the key to success, believes Puhn, a Harvard-educated lawyer-mediator, NBC and Fox News commentator and author of the best-selling book “Instant Persuasion: How to Change Your Words to Change Your Life” (Penguin). As a motivational speaker, Puhn teaches her trademarked communication method by adapting her key techniques to her audience and detailing creative ways to reduce conflict and obtain goals.

IOREBA attendees were empowered to be more persuasive just by becoming aware of their words. Puhn offered tips for turning common communication blunders into positive experiences. For example, spreading gossip at work can be beneficial but only if it’s good gossip, she explained. “It is a blunder to keep compliments about other people to yourself. Be a people-magnet,” Puhn suggested. She added that attendees should test the theory: “Pass on a compliment by the end of today. See the results for yourself.”
