Mr. Martie has over 30 years of real estate experience and is a well known and well liked member of New Jersey’s commercial real estate community with a solid reputation for results and integrity. Mr. Martie’s professional career has been highlighted by working with some of the Industry’s largest institutional real estate Investors and owners and through his energetic and creative leadership designed to create asset value through the leasing effort.
Business and Educational Background
Most recently Mr. Martie was responsible for the marketing and leasing of Advance Realty Group’s operating property portfolio and served as a member of the Company’s Executive Committee. He was also responsible for sourcing acquisitions in the NJ region. While at ARG, Bob successfully spearheaded the stabilization of ARG’s portfolio managing some of New Jersey’s largest leasing transactions. While overseeing the leasing effort Mr. Martie personally attended to many leases in excess of 100,000 square feet, led the much sought after and profitable acquisition of New York Life Insurance Company’s 260 Cherry Hill Road facility in Parsippany, N.J. and completed a 210,000 square foot build-to-suit 15 year lease transaction with Eisai Pharmaceuticals’ Corporate Headquarters. Prior to Advance Realty, Mr. Martie, was Senior Vice President for The Gale Company, and was responsible for the leasing and marketing of the company’s 50 million square foot national portfolio. His primary responsibility was the divisional management of the firm’s Leasing and Advisory Services Group - The Gale Company Real Estate Advisors, formerly Gale & Wentworth). Additionally, he was involved with acquisition, land, development, and marketing functions. Previously a Vice President and officer of Bellemead Development Corporation, a subsidiary of Chubb Insurance, Mr. Martie distinguished himself as an Industry leader in leasing and where he was responsible for the marketing and leasing of a New Jersey portfolio approximating 6 million square feet.
Acknowledged as one of the state’s most productive real estate executives, Mr. Martie is credited with completing an impressive volume of sale and lease transactions, many of which exceeded 100,000 square feet. Counted among the corporate clients he has served are New York Life, Verizon, Hoffman La Roche, Foster Wheeler, Merck, BOC, Champion Mortgage, and AT&T. Mr. Martie is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Community Involvement
His professional affiliations include membership in NAIOP, the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks, CoreNet Global and the Morris County Area Development Group. He is a past Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors of Morris County Rides, Inc. (McRides), the Board of Trustees of The Bonnie Brae School, and the Children’s Learning Center. Further, he has served on Governor Christine Whitman’s New Jersey Economic Master Plan Commission and various transportation advisory committees. In 2006 Mr. Martie was honored as commercial real estate’s “Man of the Year” by NJ March of Dimes and remains active with them today.
